Taking the BIG LEAP to start my channel!
‘I’m NEW to this! My First YouTube Video’ is my premiered video on my channel.
Ever wondered what it is like for a beginner YouTuber?
Just over 5 months since I’ve started the channel and I have learnt so much already.
In this blog I share what I’ve learnt and my statistics for these first couple months on the platform.
I put my first video up on the 28th of November 2019. Since then I have published 23 videos.
As well as understanding my niche for my channel, I have grown in the way I present myself to the camera.
Previous Filming Experience
Being an actress I have spent a lot of time in front of the camera or onstage.
Regardless, this has been a huge learning curve to find my confidence and personality behind the camera.
There is a huge difference between being confident in a character and being confident as myself.
I have found that when I tried to mimic other YouTubers style of presenting, it did not come out right.
Watching the footage back, I came across rude or pushy.
Statistics
I know my views and subscribers are small at the moment.
To put it into perspective, I currently have 37 subscribers and my most views I have on a video is 143 views.
To be honest, sometimes I feel like I am just putting in effort and talking to nobody.
Especially starting out small, the audience interaction is minimal making it feel as if not many people appreciate the videos.
But I know that this is definitely not the case.
Additionally, when looking at the regular views for my videos averaging around the 20’s, it is clear that I simply haven’t found my target audience yet.
It also comes down to the motivation to making videos and posts.
The Dream
Creating content for an artist is one of the best feelings.
Personally, I enjoy the whole process of making them. Scripting, filming, and editing.
Being able to express how you are feeling or share a glimmer of your life through any media is special.
A part of sharing content is having others enjoy it as well.
So, yes, it is my dream to have more of a following to share with others my art and even to spread the joy that I find.
A big part of that joy is the joy I have in the Lord as a Christian. I love to share living each day for God’s Glory; being a servant of God and how it makes me a happier person.
If you are someone who lacks confidence or even have a passion you want to share, I highly recommend taking the leap to start your YouTube channel!
On my channel I have vlogs, gaming videos and advice videos. If you are interested in theatre, Sims4 or life as a Christian, subscribe for some entertaining content!
Check out my first YouTube video now!
If you are interested in more content from me- check out my ‘Day in the life of Musical Theatre Student’ video.
I show around the studio and what I do in a day at my course.
If you have any other questions about my course feel free to ask me in the comments down below!
As I said above, I want to grow a community of people to share in this joy that life brings.
